With the growing economy India has been facing unprecedented talent crunch across in the different industries be it manufacturing, retail or any other service industry including banking, insurance, travel and hospitality. India's software trade body, Nasscom, says that there could be a shortfall of half a million professionals in the IT sector by 2010.
And it is not just the technology sector that is experiencing a talent crunch. Keeping good staff is a challenge for many other Indian companies too.
With an intent to address this issue, Vision Beyond has embarked upon on ambitious project to get the ‘right’ talent from the tier II/tier III cities for not only the urban metro/mini metro market but also for the same cities where the talent comes from. Vision Beyond is in the process of establishing “Points of Presence” in different up-country towns ( akin to the FMCG sales and distribution model) leading to creation of talent database. The pilot project has already become operational in the state of UP and in the near future we intend to expand this to many more states in the North, West and Central India. |
